The purpose of the Kern Liberty Coalition is to encourage local elected officials to preserve and defend the Constitutional rights of Kern County residents. KLC is designed to help business, churches, employers, employees and any concerned citizen of Kern County collaborate and organize in their effort to protect the rights of business to operate, churches to meet, and individuals to work and gather as they desire. We believe that rights granted in the United States Constitution and the California Constitution are of utmost importance and infringement of those rights negatively impacts everyone, but unfortunately often has a greater impact on the underprivileged.
KLC launched to demand the opening up of Kern County by first rescinding the unconstitutional and unlawful “order” by Kern County Public Health, which violated citizens’ First, Second and Fifth Amendment rights guaranteed under the United States Constitution. We applaud the response on May 2nd rescinding that order.
We now call on Governor Gavin Newsom to do the same – leave our county alone with respect to opening up businesses in a safe manner, but this needs to be done NOW. We were asked to “flatten the curve”. That was more than successful, as healthcare workers are being laid off in alarmingly big numbers.
"What makes America exceptional is not our material prosperity, but our fundamental belief in the God-given liberties enshrined in our Constitution. We exist for the sole purpose to demand that our elected officials secure the blessings of our liberties in accordance with their oath to defend the Constitution."
- Pastor Chad Vegas
United States service members, past, present and future, sacrificed their lives to preserve America's unique commitment to the rule of law and a government predicated on individual, God-given rights.
"Any society that will give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both."
- Benjamin Franklin, A Founding Father of the United States of America
